Brunei travel guide



We can give a short stopover in Brunei, this small sultanate during a trip to Singapore, Malaysia or even en route to Australia.
But then, what is a pure strain backpacker could find in the lands of the world's richest monarch? First, opulence and tranquility of the rainforest of Borneo, near the city. Then, the generosity of people, their hospitality. Finally, the mixture of Malay and Chinese cultures, reflected in Brunei by fine dining and cheap.
Bandar Seri Begawan, capital of Brunei, deserves some attention a few days, as it boasts a handful of interesting museums and a giant stilt village.
Moreover, this small sultanate attracted many immigrants from neighboring countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, India ...), mostly Muslims attracted by the prosperity and respect for traditions.
As for the people of Brunei, they are close to the Malay language and culture and close Singaporeans in their standard of living, which remains one of the highest in Asia Southeast.

Brunei is an Islamic State, the sharia penal code applies strictly. Death penalty, stoning, amputation and are promoted to punish homosexuality, infidelity or extramarital relations.
